What is a CSA?

It is a relationship between our farm and you as our customer (farm community). Rather than simply purchasing food, our customers become “members” of this CSA farm who receive a portion of the farm’s harvest. Members are welcome to visit and even work on the farm.

The CSA runs for 24 weeks, from May to October. Members are responsible for showing up at the drop off site each week to pick up your share of freshly harvested vegetables. You will generally receive 8-12 vegetables and herbs equivalent to 1-2 grocery bags of produce, with 2-3 bags during peak season. Variety and quantity may vary as described below.

What are the Different Share Sizes?

Whole Share – includes a box of vegetables larger than a paper grocery bag. A good amount for a couple or family who eat a lot of veggies.

Half Share – includes about 2/3 of a full share of vegetables. A good amount for 2 people or a family.

Quarter Share – includes the same amount of produce as the half share but is offered every other week. A good amount for 1-2 people.

Growing Practices

Sharing in the Risk of Crop Failure

We promise to do our best to provide you with a bountiful share each week. The quantity of vegetables, however, may vary from week-to-week due to extreme weather, insects, or other production factors despite our best efforts. By joining our CSA, you are agreeing to share the risk of crop failure with us and other members.

In the unlikely, event of a crop failure, our procedure is as follows:
If only a small portion of crops fail, we compensate for the failed crops by filling your share with other crops grown on the farm that are ready for harvest at that time. If a large portion of crops fails, we may not be able to deliver any product in some weeks (very unlikely).

Sharing in the reward of crop surplus

In addition to our CSA, our farm sells to farmer’s market(s). We balance priority of the CSA with our other markets. When production of our CSA segregated crops are especially abundant, we pack as much as possible into your share. However, we don’t want to overwhelm our members or deliver so much produce that it goes to waste. When we feel that members have received enough of certain crops, we handle the surplus by selling to farmer’s market(s). This allows us to select a consistently full and diverse share to our customers while avoiding over-delivering of any one product.
